Commission on Disability Issues (CODI)
Description:
Official advisory body to Mayor and Council on the priority of concerns faced by the disabled community of Tucson.
8 year term limit.
Maximum Number of Members: 13
Meeting Location:
Ward VI Office, Conference Room, 3202 East 1st Street
Meeting Time: 2009: 3rd Wednesday of each month, at 2:30 pm
Membership Requirements:
Thirteen members. The Mayor and each Council Member shall appoint one member; the Mayor and Council shall appoint 3 members jointly, the City Manager shall nominate 3 members for final approval by the Mayor and Council.
The individual Mayor and Council appointees shall be disabled individuals; that is, persons who have a physical or mental impairment, which substantially limits one or more of their major life activities. Members nominated by the City Manager or appointed jointly by the Mayor and Council shall be representatives of agencies and employers dedicated to serving the needs of the disabled or individuals possessing special expertise in dealing with problems of the disabled.
